Alberta Darling was elected to the State Senate in 1992 after serving over a full term representing the 22nd Assembly District.
During the 2011-12 Legislative Session, Senator Alberta Darling co-chaired the Joint Committee on Finance, and served on the Senate Committee on Economic Development and Veterans and Military Affairs, the Senate Committee on Education, the Joint Legislative Committee on Employment Relations, the Joint Legislative Audit Committee, and Joint Legislative Council. Darling is known for her advocacy for the safety of children, having passed the landmark Sexual Predator Law and most recently the Sidelined for Safety Act, which raised awareness of concussion injuries.
Senator Darling won a Summer 2011 recall against Representative Sandy Pasch, receiving 53.62% of the vote.
